I hope you can understand that we are reluctant to post our best or winning strategies with Malbot on this Forum because very quickly more people betting on the same selections would destroy the value.

Currently the Results are not working in Malbot certainly on the Aus races which I use daily and until the BetDev boys fix that problem you cannot follow my approach which is...

Set all of the criteria guidelines including Paper Trading of course to the widest possible settings so that you can gather as much information on selections as possible. I would suggest using the last 10 minutes of betting before the jump at the highest priorities.

Run this way for a full month and then print out and save to an Excel spreadsheet the full results for the month.

Then examine every single piece of information from Tracks through Days of the Week to Prices and rank of every selection to choose the optimum set of criteria for your future use.

Next run with that set of criteria for another full month and fine tune it very carefully before switching to Real money.

OF COURSE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DO THAT UNTIL BETDEV FIX THE RESULTS BUG.

Mike.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for answering. About results it is not a bug, it is Betfair RSS Results Service that is no longer available. As you know, we are on it to find another solution. We do our best to resolve it asap.

Akkerman latest extra settings have been sent to you by email. Of course if you have any question, feel free to ask to Malcolm.

QUESTIONS FROM ONE AN USER OF MALBOT AND ANSWERS FROM TEAM.

Just a couple of questions now that I have had a play around with it today. I am trying to configure a particular setting to test and just can't work it out.

(1) I would like to say lay all horses <$8 and Dutch bet (back) the rest of the field to win X amount. Now I've noticed in the settings I can only back up to $80. I would like this to be unlimited or $1000 if possible but if that's what it is then I'll have to work with that. I mean you can back as many horses so not sure why this setting is only up to $80? I mean the big dividends do get up sometimes so not sure why capped at $80. I know they don't often get up over $80 but still was going to test to see what happens. So if you can show me how to do this would be good.
Bettingdev Team said: You cannot lay with Malbot. You can only place back bets. Normally, with a AUS account, you should be able to bet until $750. What is the maximum value that is available in the "Bet amount" combo box?
(2) The other Q I have is. Is there a way I can set a certain favorite range. In other words you have minimum fav price then you have 2nd min Fav price. Can I specify/ set that I am only interested in races where the fav is between $2 -$3 let's say? I don't care what the second Fav is for example. So I am only betting in a race where the favorite is between 2 - 3 dollars at that 1 min mark when it fires off the bests.
Bettingdev Team said: You can only set a minimum value, not a maximum value for the 1st favourite. About the second favourite, enter the values 1.01 in the "Minimum 2nd Favourite's back price" to tell the bot not to check the odds of the second favourite.
(3) Can I run different systems simultaneously?
Bettingdev Team said: No, for the moment you can only run system at a time.

Do I have to use the Novenmber settings,in November.
Not sure why each of the settings have month names.

Also:
Can the settings be shared (exported) to other users.

Thanks

No you dont have to use November Settings. All settings are only a guide. We always suggest you test and develop your own settings. You can copy screenshots of settings and pass them on to other users as you wish.

Malcolm

Hi Malcom,
I've had your Bot now for a couple of weeks. I have read all the posts from other users and there are still some settings which are not clear to me. I keep reading that the software and selections are purely based on 'Market Movers'.
What I would like to know is how are ratings calculated? I mean good horses drift in the market all the time and win. So a system purely based on 'Market Movers' can be a little dangerous I believe.
Racing is corrupt especially in 'Lesser' meetings, so where a horse has been backed for a stack often doesn't win. Meaning the big boys will get the price they want on the winner. I know that's another topic but what I would like to know is how exactly does the system calculate the ratings. That way I know what I'm dealing with and can adjust accordingly. Cheers Zokki

Hi Zokki,

Yes indeed you are correct, drifters win all the time. But this particular bot looks for steamers. The ratings are complicated and have taken many years to fine tune. We dont disclose how they are calculated, but they are based around change in price both up and down along with volume traded and with a few other tweaks. Personally I stay away from jump races and the lessor meetings. In fact, Saturdays in Australia is my main day and I only bet on the main 5 meetings, one in each major state. Most of the time I just use the ratings for exotic betting like trifectas and first fours. Thats were I have most success. While auto betting can be very profitable, I tend to only use it when I am away from my computer and not watching the races. Otherwise I manually bet when I see something that appears to be good value and solid indicators. Good luck.
Regards, Malcolm

Zokki,
For an unknown reason your answer did not appear in the forum. So I display here a screenshot of the duplicate that we receive by e-mail. Click to enlarge.

Hi Malcom, it's been 3-4 weeks since I've had the software. Still trying to find a one of your winning systems if you like. I've notice where I'm testing each way that the bets don't come up in the 'bet history'. Not sure why this is the case.
Also these ratings. I'm not sure how you have calculated them which makes it difficult to know how to set things up.

What would be the best setting to disregard the ratings and use the software purely as a betfair market mover application?

Cheers
Zokki

Hi Zokki,

I actually use the software to place my own bets. The ratings are a guide to the top chances and you will see that the winners can quite often come in the top 3. Saturday is the only day for me, markets are very liquid and the bot quite often finds the diamond in the roughies. I use the ratings to also bet on trifectas. I have had some huge dividends and the boys from betting dev have posted them up on facebook etc. I also use the ratings to enter online racing tournaments which I win reguarly. They posted one of my wins last week.
As for auto, if the tracks are wet and the fields are big, I will run the bot on auto with eachway betting.
Betting Dev will have to answer you about eachway results in test mode. I dont use test mode sorry.
Good luck and be patient. Study the movements and look for that gem. I like it especially when one or two runners are rated 80 plus points above everything else.

Regards,
Malcolm

Zokki & Co

Can I suggest that if you are using Malbot on paper trading then consider running one month with all settings set wide enough to trap almost every runner selected by your settings.

For example set Selections Rating Range to 1 to 500 and Number of selections to 9 and Odds from 1.10 to 80.

Then at the end of the month run Predefined and Data Calulation and Export to Excel.

Then you can sort and test in Excel to find the most profitable settings for each factor and establish your own System.

Keep winning

Mike.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for sharing your settings for use in Malsbot.

I am paper trading them starting today 12th April 2024.

I have used your exact settings and included the UK markets as well.

I shall tweak the settings as I go and more data will be saved.

Best Regards

Kev
