We have looked broadly at the results of G2M with different Volume% settings, Prices or Odds Range and Tracks.
The settings I am using on my Gyanhton VPS copy of G2M include the following: –
I use the Volume Rating Tab for my Betting Mode with the time settings:
#1 – 10, #2 – 30, #3 – 60, and the Rating #1 – Highest
#3 – 60, #4 – 120, #5 – 180, and the Rating #2 – Highest
#5 – 180, #6 – 240, #7 – 300, and the Rating #3 – Average
These settings aim to catch the bulk of the money invested on each race with the most important moves coming quite late in the betting in fact within the last three minutes before the race start.
Changes to any of these three sets of settings will affect the built-in Rating Factors.
Next as I have previously suggested I look at Volume% invested on each dog and I consider “good” and “bad” tracks for profitability, and I operate in a restricted Odds or Price range.
Of course, you will realise that if we change any one of these settings then the results and so our profitability will also change.
At first, I was looking for the settings that gave me the best SR% but soon realised that was not always the most profitable setting. My next step was to consider looking at eliminating some of the least profitable settings.
I needed to start somewhere with a fixed setting and so I found that the greatest influence on my profitability was Money Volume% so I ran through every tenth of a percent from zero to 100 BUT preceded by the Greater Than symbol “>”. This indicated that in my database a Vol% setting of >59.5% produced the highest profitability. I did a similar exercise using the “<” symbol and found that <90.0% had a similar effect.
So, commencing with those two numbers I ran every Track and decided to eliminate only the two least profitable Tracks which turned out to be Cranbourne and Warrugal. I then eliminated those two Tracks from my Database and re-ran the Vol% numbers finding a small difference from my first run. I am now using ….
And using this on all Tracks in GB, NZL and AUS except the two I have eliminated as poor value.
My next step was to repeat the analyses for Odds or Price using these new Vol% settings on my now restricted Database.
Again, I started at the minimum and ran Greater than and Less Than tests on every price in my Database. I am now using ….
My database is far from complete and so I would be most interested to hear what your results might be from a similar exercise or simply from running the same settings as me?
One of the problems that I have is that my G2M fails to pick up many of the race results on GB racing during the night. Far too many to update manually. I understand Bettingdev are looking for a solution to this bug.
Now I have previously indicated that either here in the Bettingdev Blog or on the G2M Forum we will look at Race Class and Box/Trap for different distances and classes.
I would expect that some Boxes could have higher strike rates and/or profitability’s than others depending on Track size or shape and race distance and Trainer expectations for their Dogs specific ability to jump or lead. The overall result was ….
